2020 NorCRID Annual Conference & Business Meeting

The 2020 NorCRID Board is proud to bring you this year's annual conference. Despite COVID-19 we are committed to connecting and sharing knowledge with our members. This year's conference will be held virtually so no matter where you are in the world you can join us via Zoom. 

This year the conference will be broken into 4 sessions. You can attend one or all 4 depending on how much time and energy you have. We hope the variety of topics allows everyone to find something of interest. 

Our workshops are listed below: 

• "The Medical Interpreting Kaleidoscope: A Conversation on Perspectives" with Corey Axelrod, Saturday, 11/7 9-11am

• "Anti-Blackness in Interpreting: How it is Embodied and What it Means for Racial Justice" with Dr. Lissa Ramirez- Stapleton, Saturday, 11/7 12-2pm

• "The 5 W’s of Latent Interpreting: A Panel" with California's Latent Interpreting Media, Saturday, 11/7 4-6pm

• "(Trans)lating: Best Practices working with Deaf Trans Consumers" with Oliver Stabbe, Sunday, 11/8 9-11am

NorCRID's Business Meeting will be held Sunday, November 8th 12-2pm. President's report, membership report and fiscal report will all be given during that time as well as voting in new board positions. Voting for board positions include:

• President (2 year term)
• Secretary (2 year term) 
• Treasurer (2 year term) Kate Lubeck running for re-election 
• Member at Large (2 year term)
• Member at Large Alternate (1 year term) 
• Member at Large Alternate 2 (1 year term) 

Any member business or propositions should be brought up during the business meeting. The board has no new proposals for the membership this year. 

Fees for this year's conference will be only for CEU processing. If you wish to earn CEUs, there will be a flat fee of $25. You can attend and earn CEUs for 1-4 workshops at this rate. Each workshop is .2 CEUs. The "(Trans)elating" workshop and the "Anti-Blackness in Interpreting" workshops will earn .2 PPO CEUs per workshop. 

We are working hard to cover the total cost of the conference which is $3000. If you'd like to donate to NorCRID we would appreciate your support. 

NorCRID is committed to creating a fully accessible conference.   Attendees will communicate in ASL. Please let us know if we have missed anything so we can grow and improve.
